Sorry I missed it - bloody mother's in law!

I'd even got it washed yesterday and a spring coat of Mequiars!

But great meet anyway, the weather held up and there was quite a bit of sun. Went for a good drive in pretty random directions :) Through villages past the yocals walking their pet sheep, and stopping next to the friendly cows - pictures to come but probably not tonight as I have Herts to do too.

Cheers

the sheep was the highlight of the day pmsl!

But the important question is how many turned up - you have to beat 15!!

As I was buggering about blanking out reg plates on pics until 2am on Sunday morning I wouldn't have been able to make it - but I promise to come to the next one.

Well, does a sheep count if you collect it on the way past?? we managed to avoid that with the sheep... although Jon and I both suffered from kamikazi birds on the way...

24/4/2005 meet in Dorset

Post by Tomsk » Tue Apr 26, 2005 11:44 am

A thoroughly enjoyable day out. Thanks Druck, excellent photos have brought it back.
Isn't Milton Abbas the prettiest village ever ? One or two photos to come of the white cottages from the walk up and down the single main street.
Scary drive to Sherborne, led by BigWithey - fun going the "wrong" way, then the entire convoy going round the memorial monument and back ! Young kiddies standing spellbound and waving at each car as we flashed past.
Last you saw of us was just past Sherborne castles - as no-one stopped we headed off to Yeovil to see some of wifey's long-lost-relatives. 291 miles in all for the day, and used under three-quarters of a tank. I swear I've averaged 32mpg - surely that can't be right ?
S/Silver, 192ps, b. Jan 2004 - 22,000 miles, 1 mod only (= oil cooler protection grilles), 2 ProDrives, 12 meets. Still feels like a new car !

I mentioned over dinner on Saturday that I didn't see the point of blanking out reg plates - I then got a lecture from druck so I suggest you at least blank his out - or feel the wrath of the moderator!

Took me bloody ages but I'm a good girl and I always do as I'm told!

My take is... how many people do you drive past everyday who see your number plate...

Number plate, shnumber plate .. doesn't bother me too much, but I'm sure there is a convincing argument in favour of blacking them out, something about guarding against having your movements tracked.

But I have never been able to see the point about being "ex-Directory" with a landline. To guard against nuisance calls ? But anyone could pick your number by dialling at random anyway.

Before I was ex-directory you could put my name and just 'Hertfordshire' into the directory enquires website and get my address and even a nice map!

As a female living on her own I'm 'aving none of that!

I too am ex-directory, but not by personal choice. In fact it's a sodding nuisance, many's the time someone's told me they wanted to ring me but couldn't remember my number.
I was obliged to pander to wifey's paranoia - it's in case she gets a "heavy breather". Well if you do says I why not just put the fecking phone down !!!! But there's no reasoning with her. :(
